Some excellent news before Christmas. Last season, Carmarthen Town Football Club chose Talking Books Wales as one of their designated charities for the year. During matches a bucket collection took place, a sponsored walk was arranged and two successful nights of poetry and entertainment contributed to the season’s activities. The result saw the club’s President, Jeff Thomas, presenting a cheque of £1200 before our last meeting. We congratulate the club for their good work and thank them for their generosity.
I was invited to speak to members of the Swansea and District Visually Impaired Club the other day. Thank you all for your kind welcome and I gained further knowledge of what we can do to help. A number of ideas were thrashed out during the course of the discussions and we will investigate them further.
